Presentation Convent Chowannur Presentation Convent, the Mother House of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity, was established on 1941 November 21 by Venerable Fr. Augustine John Ukken in the Parish of St. Thomas Church at Chowannur. The Holy Mother of Presentation is the patroness of this convent and the mission of this nunnery is to alleviate the sufferings of the poor people by the help of Fr. Augustine John Ukken Trust. John Nivas Chowannur John Nivas which is known as the cradle of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity and renovated in 2013 and given the name of “John Nivas” for the memory of Ven. Fr. Ukken where he has lived after his retirement from the St. Thomas Church at Chowannur and breathed last. Today John Nivas is a Perpetual Adoration Center, and arranged a museum of the life and spirituality related to Fr. Ukken for the visit of the people of God. As well as here working at the office of Ven. Fr. Ukken’s beatification process. Ven. Fr. Augustine John Ukken Social Centre Chowannur Under the Trust of Fr. Augustine John Ukken, on 2022 May 30 Ven. Fr. Augustine John Ukken Social Centre has started in Chowannur. Rosary making unit for the women in the Chowannur St. Thomas Church, to provide the medical equipment for the poor sick people in nearing places at Chowannur, to organize the monthly reunion for the aged people of the St. Thomas Parish Chowannur, are running successfully under this social centre.
